Plot Summary
A search and rescue team are transported through deep space to a distant mining colony to save the sole survivor of a biological outbreak. During their mission, they find a lethal weapon which is set to arrive on Earth within the hour.

　　故事发生在遥远的23世纪，95%的人类沦为赤贫。为了摆脱困境，人们将触角伸向外太空，希望借助外星矿物的开采工作来扭转现状。但是他们太过莽撞，以致于唤醒了矿源中沉睡的未知生物。在过去的岁月中，曾有1600名当地员工被怪物所杀。此后不久，怪物迅速感染合适的宿主，局势彻底失控。为了阻止怪物入侵地球的计划，一支小队被派往异星球执行阻截任务。谁知小队遭受了压倒性的打击，危机时刻，名叫怀特·卡迈克尔（Daniel MacPherson 饰）的男子释放冷气冻住了怪物，而除他之外无一人生还。
　　此后不久，另一支队伍受命前来查探情况，他们的无意之举让沉睡的怪物再度复活……
