Lucy Hill (Renée Zellweger) is an ambitious, up and coming executive living in Miami. She loves her shoes, she loves her cars and she loves climbing the corporate ladder. When she is offered a temporary assignment - in the middle of nowhere - to restructure a manufacturing plant, she accepts the opportunity, knowing a big promotion is close at hand. What begins as a straight forward job assignment becomes a life changing experience as Lucy discovers greater meaning in her life and more unexpectedly, the man of her dreams (Harry Connick, Jr.).
剧情简介
　　在同事的眼里，露西（蕾妮·泽尔维格 Renée Zellweger 饰）是一个做事雷厉风行的女强人，同时，也是一个可以为了达到自己的目的而不择手段的贱人。在露西的眼里，所有的一切都不重要，包括糟糕的人际关系和贫瘠的感情生活，只要能在工作上顺风顺水，她就能够心安理得的享受生活。一次外派中，露西被送到了位于明尼苏达州的一个小镇，虽然露西并不愿意摊上这份“苦差事”，可是一想到能将此次外派当做升职的跳板，一切的艰难险阻都不成问题了。
　　刚开始，小镇上的一切都让露西感到寡然无味，但随着时间的推移，她发现让她无法忍受的一切竟然渐渐变得可爱起来。并且，在这里，露西遇到了名叫泰德（小哈里·康尼克 Harry Connick Jr. 饰）的男人，他的出现让露西开始重新思考，自己真正想要的究竟是什么。
