Sage the Gemini likened his debut album Remember Me to a chin check for the kids who’d ignored him in high school. Despite bonafide hits in “Red Nose” and “Gas Pedal,” as well as the runaway success of Flo Rida’s 2015 EDM smash “GDFR” on which he was featured, Morse Code shows Sage addressing the rap world in a similar manner. The album is Sage reintroducing himself as a hit-making rapper and producer of post-hyphy slaps. His production leaves no musical stone unturned, utilizing mariachi band horns for “Watchachacha,” a salsa piano line for “Lituation,” and a delightful interpolation of the Dazz Band classic, “Let It Whip,” for “Grip.”
