Plot Summary
Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga: Cheek To Cheek LIVE! features live vocal duet and solo performances of jazz standards from the Great American Songbook performed by Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga. Filmed on July 28, 2014, at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall, the special evening aired as part of the PBS Arts Fall Festival 2014 on THIRTEEN's Great Performances. The set includes "It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)," "Sophisticated Lady," "Lush Life," and "Anything Goes," from Bennett and Gaga's critically acclaimed #1 album Cheek To Cheek released on Streamline/Columbia/Interscope Records . The stars are joined by a 39-piece orchestra conducted by Jorge Calandrelli, soloists Chris Botti on trumpet and David Mann on tenor sax, and jazz musicians associated with both artists including members of Bennett's quartet, Mike Renzi, Gray Sargent, Harold Jones and Marshall Wood, and Lady Gaga's quintet, including Brian Newman, Paul Francis, Steven Kortyka, Michael Scott Ritchie, and Alex Smith. Presented here by LG Electronics USA in 4K Ultra HD resolution, the special features stunning set and lighting design from award-winning stage director Robert Wilson. Directed for television by David Horn, Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga: Cheek To Cheek LIVE! is a co-production of THIRTEEN Productions LLC and Interscope Records, a division of UMG Recordings, Inc. Mitch Owgang is a producer on the project, and Phil Hack serves as line producer. Additionally, Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Danny Bennett and Bobby Campbell are executive producers.
